About Frazee Community Center
Our History
Frazee Community Center has served the San Bernardino community for generations. The roots of the organization date back to 1947 when local community members came together with a shared purpose — to help neighbors facing hardship and provide support where it was needed most.
In 1964, the Frazee Community Center was formally established as a nonprofit organization and named after William and Cecile Frazee, whose lives were dedicated to helping those less fortunate in the local community.
For decades, the Center provided a wide range of services including meals, clothing distribution, and outreach programs. These efforts helped thousands of individuals and families find stability, dignity, and hope during difficult times.
Where We Are Today
Like many community organizations, Frazee experienced major changes over recent years. The COVID-19 pandemic significantly altered operations, and several legacy programs — including meal service, clothing distribution, and certain outreach services — were discontinued. The passing of our interim director also created leadership challenges during an already difficult period.
Despite these setbacks, the mission of Frazee has not changed.
Today, Frazee Community Center focuses primarily on providing low-income and very-low-income housing to qualified individuals and families in San Bernardino. Our housing offers stability and a foundation for residents to rebuild independence and improve their quality of life.
Looking Forward
Frazee Community Center is actively working to expand housing opportunities and restore transitional housing programs. The organization intends to pursue VA Grant-Per-Diem funding in order to once again provide structured housing support for veterans.
Our goal is to rebuild responsibly — focusing on sustainable programs that create lasting impact rather than temporary assistance.
